NEAR EAST. [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] LONDON, March 11. The formation of a great Allied air force in the Near ’East is said to be making rapid progress. Discussions took place to-day at Ankara between the commanders of the British, French and Turkish air forces with a view to bringing about closer co-ordination among the three forces. Construction of new air bases in Turkey is expected to follow these talks and instructors from France and England are being sent to Turkey. CANADIAN POLITICS. TORONTO, March 11. The Provincial Secretary, Mr Harry Nixon, has resigned, as -a protest against Mr Hepburn’s Attitude . towards the war effort. Mr Nixon declared that he disagreed with the censure on January 18, also with Mr Hepburn’s subsequent attacks. RUSSIAN OIL SUPPLIES (Recd. March 12, 1.5 p.m.) BUCHAREST, March 11. The newspaper “Universul” says that German experts are arriving at Bashkir, westward of the southern Ural Mountains, described as Russia’s second Baku. Russia and Germany are reported to have signed a provisional agreement, whereby the oil production in this region will he doubled. MAILS CENSORSHIP BERMUDA, March 11.
