LONDON, January 1. A large quantity of gold watches, rings, bracelets, and brooches waSi stolen from a Glasgow jeweller’s shop yesterday. I It is believed that the stolen goods were carried off in the first instance in a paper carrier which burst on the pavement, scattering the haul all over the street. The thief stopped to retrieve part of his haul, and made good his escape. The theft was discovered by a policeman on his rounds, who found himself trampling-on gold watches- and jewels.
