BOWLING
WEST COAST TOUPRNAMENT.
The West Coast Bowling Centre’s annual championship tournament opened to-day, in dull, showery weather. The greens are slow after the heavy rain of the past week, but otherwise are in good order. One hundred and twelve players are competing in the tournament, including teams from Beckenham, Barrington, Canterbury, United (Christchurch), Sytlenham, Leith (Dunedin), Lyttelton, R.S.A. (Christchurch), Opawa, Heathcote, and St. Albans Clubs, in addition to Reefton, Runanga, Hokitika, Greymouth and Karoro Clubs, . The Greymouth and Karoro' Clubs’ .greens are being used to-day and tomorrow, for rinks play, and on Wednesday, when the pairs’ matches commence, the Runanga and Hokitika greens will also be utilised: — Results of play - up to the time the “Star” went to press, to-day, were as follow: — CHAMPIONSHIP RINKS.
