UNDER WARSAW RUINS
THOUSANDS OF BODIES
[BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, December 7. “The Times” says it is established that 20,000 bodies of civilians killed in the defence of Warsaw have boon fotindi under the ruins. The destruction of buildings is so great that, experts believe it will take 20 years, to rebuild Warsaw. • A British Official Wireless message says that in a recent interview with tho Foreign Secretary (Lord Halifax), the Polish Ambassador in London (Count Raczynski) informed him that million of Poles were being turned out of then; homes at a few hours’ notice and deprived of their possessions. Moreover, with a view to breaking up the population, the Germans had during the past few days begun to execute many of the 'better-known Polish citizens. The Polish Government had the names of many of the victims, who included the Mayor of Bromberg. Permanent land owners also had been put into concentration camps. The? Polish Government, also had information of serious ill-treatment of Poles in. those parts of Poland which formerly belonged to Austria. Cracow itself had been a fleet cd by the transfer of populations from the Rhineland and a Polish ghetto was being created in that city. All the professors of Cracow University had been assembled and arrested and taken to Germany. TRANSFER OF POPULATIONS. LONDON. December 7. The Associated Press of Great. Britain states, that according to a Berlin message, the transfer of the Ger man and Russian populations in Poland will begin to-morrow. One hundred thousand Germans are going ■westward, and 500,000 Ukrainian 1 ; an i others are going eastward.
