BOMBERS FLOWN TO BRITAIN [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] NEW YORK, October 22. The special -correspondent of the North American Newspaper Alliance in Ottawa says Canadian pilots have already flown eight bombers to Britain. Officials visualise the training under the Empire air scheme of 50,000 pilots and 400,000 mechanics. Civilian clubs are recruiting, giving preliminary training to thousands of men. An Ottawa, message says the British Under-Secretary of State for Air (Captain H. M. Balfour) and Mr. F. D. Hearles, general manager of the de Hayilland Aircraft Company, have joined the Riverdale mission. The latter, it is understood, will be technical adviser. Lord Riverdale said the final plans would advance quickly when the Australian and New Zealand missions arrived.
