CONTROL OF EXPORTS
NEW REGULATIONS ISSUED. [per press association.] 1...-. <’ • ,-T’* ‘ ‘ WELLINGTON, September 7. Important regulations, aiming at the control of exports from New Zealand, are contained in an extraordinary Gazette issued this morning. The regulations state that no person shall export any goods froih the Dominion without the permission, m writing, of the Minister of Customs. Persons desiring to export goods shall, at least ten days prior to the date of shipment, apply to the Controller of Customs at the port of shipment foi permission to export. Applicants are required to furnish particulars of the description, quantity and value of the goods, the port intended for shipment, the name of the intended’ exporting Vessel, the approximate date of shipment, the ultimate destination of the goods and the name and address of the consignee. The Minister, however, is authorised to use his discretion to dispense with the necessity for the above particulars. The regulations are effective as from to-morrow.
