The funeral of Mr. Frank Smith took place at Karoro Cemetery this afternoon. Rev. A. A. Bensley conducted the services at the' residence, Blackball, and at the graveside.

Tributes to Mr. William Wallace, past president of the Hospital Boards’ Association, and a former member and chairman of the Auckland! Hospital Board, were paid at a recent meeting of the executive of the association. Mr. Wallace was presented with a cheque, the amount of, which had been subscribed by various hospital boards. —Press Assn.
