MINERS ENTOMBED
EXPLOSION IN KENTUCKY.

PROVIDENCE (Kentucky), July 16. Twenty-eight miners entombed in a coal-mine following a terrific explosion are dead, in the opinion of rescue workers who have toiled for 40 hours to reach the scene of the disaster. Up to the present 19 bodies have been recovered. Rescue efforts continue. The explosion smashed motors and equipment and tossed a two-ton locomotive 200 feet.
