He waited until the old man | | emu, left, (be nest, and planted the thermometer among the eggs. Bui as ' soon as the old man came back, he picked up the instrument and flung it I out! J J
i Now Mr. Burnet is in a quandry. “It ho pul a smaller thermometer in. the nest the old man may swallow it. If he does not find out the right incubation temperature, some of the emu babies may not be hatched. .
