FRONTIER FIGHTING
RUSSIANS AND JAPANESE.

LONDON, July 14
A Moscow broadcast yesterday stated 2000 Japanese were killed and 3,500 were Wounded, in fighting west of the Khalkhagol River, involving artillery, tanks, aircraft and infantry. It was stated that the fighting had' been going on since July -6J The casualties admitted by the Soviet are 293 killed, and 633 wounded.
The broadcast reported that simultaneously, there have been fierce air battles around Lake Buirnor. The Russians claimed to have won a victory in every one, resulting in 61 Japanese planes being brought down, and twelve Japanese airmen being captured. The names of the twelve were broadcast.
The broadcast also stated that between May 28 and July 12 there had been 199 Japanese machines, shot down, and that the Soviel fosses had been 52 planes.
