In the Kaikohe Magistrate’s Court to-day William Pera Paki, 26, who was charged with attempted suicide, attempted murder of his fpur-year-old son, and unlawfully killing Airs. Annie Evelyn Marsh, thereby committing manslaughter, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. SLY-GROG OFFENCES ASHBURTON, July 14. Harold Price was fined £2O for slygrog selling. It rvas his second offence, a similar penalty having been imposed 18 months ago. Air. H. Morgan, S.M., said that there were so many cases in Ashburton that, if fines werq not taken seriously, he would have to impose terms of imprisonment.
