GERMAN MOTOR TRAGEDY.

VIENNA, June 19.
Ten people were killed, and 16 were seriously, injured, when a sight-seeing motor-coach crashed 70ft into a ravine, while travelling on the Gross-Lockner Road, Germany’s highest motor-road. The victims were mostly peasants.

Burglars broke into Lord Wakehurst’s house in Chesham Place, and stole jewellery valued at over £lOOO. SUBMARINE DISASTER PARIS, June 19. King George has cabled to President Lebrun his sympathy at the loss of the French submarine Phenix. ANGLO-SOVIET LULL. MOSCOW, June 19. No British-Soviet conversations were held to-day. Diplomatic sources state that the lull may last for several days. MURDER PLOT DENIED. BUCHAREST, June 19. The report of a Nazi Iron Guard plot to assassinate King Carol and members of the Roumanian Government, is semi-officially denied.
INDIAN RELIGIOUS RIOTS. CAWNPORE, June 19. Brickbats thrown at a Hindu religious procession, in the Moslem quarter, led Io renewed rioting, in which 30 were injured. Curfew has been imposed. Three were killed and 36 injured, including eight wounded by gunshots from the police.
