GOLF. [per press association.] AUCKLAND, May 15. The professional golfers, von Nida (Australia). Murray, Clements and Moss (Auckland) gave the most brilliant exhibition ever seen locally when engaged in a four-ball match at Midcl lemore, this afternoon. Von Nida and Murray won, 2 and 1. The. Australian had an approximate stroke round of 70. Murray took 66 lor 17 holes. Clements was out in 33. but spoiled an otherwise great eilort with G at. the last. Moss played fine golf to the greens, although his putting was not as accurate as usual. Von Nida praised the Middle-more course, placing it first in the Dominion. followed in order by. Shirley, Titi rangi, and Otatara.

DUNEDIN, May 15

A professional boxing contest held to-night between W. Parris, of Wellington (lOst Ulb) and Norman Fisher of Christchurch (lOst 1?,lb) resulted in a win on a knock-out in the ninth lonnd for Parris. The bout, which was one of the best seen in Dunedin for some years, attracted a big at tendance, about equally divided' in sympathies. The exchanges were fairly even for the first four rounds..but thereafter Parris’s body blows took toll, and Fisher was tiring when the end came.

A preliminary between M. Parr (Dunedin) and W. Brown (Invercargill) resulted in a win on points for Parr.
