BRITISH PRESS COMMENT.
LONDON. May 15
The “Daily Telegraph,” commenting editorially on 11 Dace’s speech says: “There is certainly a bitter ironic humour in the circumstances that the democracies are reproached with not being sincerely devoted 1 to the cause of peace by a. leader who boasts of the subjugation of Abyssinia, and the ‘Union’ of Albania and Italy. “The democracies are certainly guilty of organising the defence of their independence and freedom, but even in the distorting, mirror of II Duce’s argument that act can hardly be made to look, aggressive except to those threatening their independence.”
RECEPTION IN GERMANY.
LONDON, May 15
The Berlin correspondent of the British United Press, says the whole German Press prints Signor Mussolini's phrase, “We will march with Germany.” as a full-page headline, emphasising that this is II Duce’s first speech as Germany’s pledged military ally.”
