TO-DAY’S GREY'MOUTH SITTING

Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., presided Ul'a silling of the Magistrate’s Court, at. Greymouth, to-day. Arthur Francis Munton, alias Arthur Seymou,r, alias Arthur Sutton, alias Frank Crisby, 36, labourer, a native of Australia, was charged that, on April 25, at. Rotor.oa Island, near Auckland, ho stole one dinghy, a pair of oars, a blanket, a knile and a mug, of a total value of £5/12/-, the property, of the Salvation Army. Detective-Sergeant JI. E- Knight, said that accused was an inmate of Rotoroa Island, and escaped from there on April 2i>. lie had received no instructions about, the case, and woul.d ask that accused should be remanded, in custody, until Monday next.

On judgment, summonses, 11. F Arthur was ordered to pay, forthwith, to C. (>. Moore a sum of £3/16/5, in default four days’ imprisonment; and W. McGrath was ordered to pay, forthwith, to John Stewart a, sum af £2O 12/8, together with .£l/11/6. solicitor’s fee, in default 22 days’ imprisonment.
