BAN ON BATHING COSTUMES. SYDNEY, May 15.
Under a new transport regulation, people wearing bathing costumes or bathing trunks will be forbidden to travel on trams and buses, in the Sydney and Newcastle metropolitan districts.
ABORIGINALS: DROWNED. BRISBANE, May 15.
Four aborigines are believed to have perished when a launch capsized off Palm Island, an aboriginal settlement. A party of ten, comprising seven men and three boys, were aboard when the boat overturned in a choppy sea. The survivors swam three miles to the land.
LUGGER WRECKED. DARWIN, May 15.
A message, brought by a fisherman, stated that four men whose lugger .was. .. wrecked a fortnight ago on Horseshoe Reef, about 50 miles south-west of Darwin, are now at Point Charles, and are suffering seriously from the privations they have endured. One is blinded by sandy blight. From the meagre details available. X it appears that the men were sailing the lugger from Broome to Darwin.’ £ when i.t was wrecked. The men lost « all provisions. They made their way C to Grose island, and eventually stag- ” gered into a farm near Point Charles. «
