[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Mr 0. Buckman left on Saturday evening, en route to Auckland, on holiday. Mr and Mrs H. Griffiths, Wallsend, left, to-day for New Plymouth and Auckland, on a. month’s holiday. Mr T. Morgan, Taylorville, left on Saturday for New Plymouth to attend the U.A.O.D. annual conference. Mr A. Graham (1), Mrs Fordham (2) and Mrs M. McDonald (3) were the successful players at the Taylorville School whist drive, held on Saturday evening. Present at the Taylorville School Committee meeting were Messrs T. W. Morgan (chairman.), R. R. Smith, L. Dando, P. Moore, F. Slater, and the headmaster, Mr A. E. Mahon. The headmaster reported that the school roll was 96. and the average attendance for the month 92. During the fine weather in February instruction in swimming and life-saving was given to the children. The school was represented at the West Coast Primary School Sports meeting pt Greymouth on March 3. The garden competition was less successful than had been hojied, on account of the wet season, but it was intended to make it an annual event, and better results were expected in the future. Several small accounts were passed for payment.
