The 'Berne correspondent of "The Times” states that bomb-throwers, by releasing avalanches, liberated t«? alpine troops snowed in at the Wildstrubel hut, but a fresh avalanche swept down 500 feet live members ot the rearguard, who were roped together. Rescuers found them with several ribs broken, and carried them by sledge to Lenk, where English tourists and the populace greeted them. Soldiers descended from the Wildhorn hut, bringing the bodies of three who were killed by an avalanche. A fourth body is missing.
