DUNEDIN, March 10. Till- South Dunedin police were advised this morning, that a single woman, Amelia Winifred Ball. 29. was missing from her home at .105 Musselburgh rise. A. search was immediately begun, and al 10.45 a.m., a message was received that, a body had been found on St. Kilda beach near Lawyer’s Head. It was identified as that of Miss Ball and the fact that the head was badly injured appeared to indicate that she had fallen over a cliff.

Mr. Nash said that he understood the Fruitgrowers’ Federation was dealing with lhe matter.

FARM WORKERS. WELLINGTON, March 10. 'Die discussion on wages and conditions for farm workers will be resumed al. Wellington, on Wednesday. A deadlock was reached at the first conference between representatives of the New Zealand Workers’ Union and the New Zealand Sheepowners’ Federation and Farmers' Union. The Minister for Labour (Mr. Webb) will preside at Wednesday’s confert'iice. He was absent from the first meeting. It is his duty, as Minister, finally to iix the wages under an extension order of iho Agricultural Workers’ Act. On this occasion, the workers are asking for increased wages and a. set. of working conditions, with the employers offering the terms of the present order. LINER IN CYCLONE. AUCKLAND, March 10. A cyclone was experienced by the liner Strathallan between Sydney and Brisbane, which was the lust port ofcall before the vessel left Australia, on a cruise to New Zealand. The liner arrived this afternoon with 950 passengers, 30 of whom are making a round voyage from England. The Strathallan was scheduled to arrive at. Brisbane from Sydney last Sunday morning, but did not. arrive until Monday morning. A cyclone was encountered on Saturday night, and the vessel was hove-to for 12 hours, many of the 850 passengers on board suffering from seasickness. The Strathallan then had to wait for the tide before berthing at Brisbane was possible. The voyage across the Tasman was tine and uneventful. The liner will sail from Auckland to-morrow for Wellington. The Strathallan is the hist of eight cruise ships to visit New Zealand this season.
