The wicket was sodden, after rain, for the resumption of the fourth Test match between England and South Africa. There was no play until after lunch. Melville and Van der Bijl were steadily aggressive. Verit-y and Wilkinson bowled many loose balls. Melville was caught in the slips from an out-swinger, and Van der Bijl was immediately bowled, two wickets falling at 108. Both Mitchell and Rowan were missed early.
