SOMALILAND SITUATION.

The reinforcement of the French garrison in Somaliland is regarded in official circles as “making worse an already-dangerous situation.” It is strongly indicated that Italy will take "adequate precautionary military measures.” •
LIBYAN SECURITY.
LONDON, February 20.
In the Commons, Mr Butler said that Italy had intimated she was sending 30,000 troops to ensure the security of Libya. This was not regarded as a breach of the AngloItalian agreement, although it was admitted that it would restore the garrison to its pre-agreement strength.
BADOGLIO’S SURVEY.
ROME, February 20.
Marshal Badoglio has gone to Tripoli for a special survey of the defences of North Africa.
ESPIONAGE CHARGES.
LONDON, February 20.
The British United Press Djibouti correspondent says that several Italians and natives are reported to have been arrested, on charges of espionage. Further arrests are expected’.
