SATURDAY'S PROGRAMME A feature of the programme at the thirteenth annual meeting of the Karoro Sports Club, to he held at the Karoro Domain on Saturday, will be the appearance of tlie two Australian axemen, W. Johnston (Victoria) and M. C. Parker (New South Wales). They will give an exhibition of tree-felling, Johnston having gained the world s championship in this art, for the third
time, at the last Sydney Show. In the open chopping events, tor which record entries have been receded, they will compete against the best oi tlie’ West Coast’s axemen. The main event, the Karoro Handicap Chop. 1-i--inch underhand, carries total prize money of £7O with a Plumb gold medal to the winner. Messrs. Fayette It. Plumb Inc. have also donated axes lor the Upright and 12-inch Underhand events. The, sports will commence. at noon. For the first time, there will be a booth on the ground, while afternoon tea. ice creams and soft drinks will also be obtainable.
