MURDER IN QUEENSLAND
WOMAN HIT WITH AXE BROTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED [By CABLE—PRESS ASSN.—COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, February 5. The brutal murder of a prominent young woman, and grave injuries, caused to her brother, have stirred the Northern Districts of New South Wales. The dead woman was Constance Sommerlad, aged 36. She kept house for her brother, Eric Sommerlad, aged 26 year, a farmer, four miles from 2enterfield, where the family is wellknown. Constance was apparently attacked, with an axe, while in bed. Iler head was frightfully battered. Her brother was similarly assailed and was found unconscious, and there is little hope of his recovery/
The tragedy was discovered on Saturday by their sister, who was visitiing the house. Constance was the niece of Mr. E. C. Sommerlad, a Member of Parliament and Manager of the Country Press Association of New South Wales.

A man, aged about 25, has been arrested here in connection with the Tenterfield murder.
Eric Sommerlad has slightly improved.
