FIT OF REMORSE
FROLIC ENDED IN DEATH. Besides being a chauffeur, Andrew Ness, aged 27. of Kensington, London, was a dance instructor. Without asking the permission of his employer, he went, out in his car for a frolic, and wound up a night of enjoyment by gassing himself after an accident.
The story wa.s told at the inquest Leld by the I’addingtoii Coroner Mr Ingleby Oddie, Ness drove the ear to the Albert. Hall, where a police ball was taking place. At 3 a.m. he left with three friends in the car. I Ness then collided with two taxicabs, and damaged the car. To a' policeman he gave a false name. Lateri on Ness dumped the car in a turning] rear his lodgings went to his roomt and took his life. Mr Ingleby Oddie expressed tin opinion that Ness acted in a fit of remorse. and recorded a verdict of suicide while of unsound mind.
