REEFTON, January 16

An inquest was held at the Court House, before Mr. W. B. Auld, Coroner, to Inquire into the death at Crushington, on January 10, of Albert Aaron Crcnnell. Constable Robertson conducted the proceedings for the. police. Dr. J. L. Wicken stated that lie conducted a post mortem examination, and this revealed a state of general peritonitis, there was also a perforated duodenal ulcer. The cause of death would be peritonitis. Silveirus McEvedy, Public Works employee, and a work mate of deceased, stated that deceased was taken ill on the train when returning from Christchurch on January 9. Bruce S. Anderson, Public Works employee, stated that Crcnnell was ill on his return to camp on the evening of January 9. During the night he be-J came much worse. Witness assisted:

deceased us far as he was able with first aid. The Coroner found that deceased died us a result of g-nor:il peritonitis, following tho perforation of a duodenal ulcer.
