The Manawatu tennis championships were concluded during the week-end. the finals resulting as follows: —

Men’s Singles.—AV. T. Pountney (Auckland.) beat. M. Ferkins (Wellington) 6/0, 7/5.

'Women's Singles.—Miss N. Beverley (Matamata) beat Miss B. Potter (Waiuku), 6/1. 7/5. Meu’s Doubles. —R. Chisholm alnd W. Boddy (Manawatu) beat Ferkins and Ramson (Wellington) 6/4, 1/6. 6/4.

Women’s Doubles. —Miss Beverley and Mrs J. IT. Macdonald (Dannevirke) beat Misses Potter and Symes (Auckland) 6/1,-6/1. Mixed Doubles. —W. Hooper (.Manawatu) and Miss Beverley' beat. Ramsou and Miss Haggitt (Manawatu) 5/7. 6/2. 6/2. HAWKE’S BAY. HASTINGS, January 15. The Hawke’s Bay provincial tennis championships, played at Waipukurau on Saturday, ended in most, of the titles being taken by visiting players. The new title-holders are: — SINGLES. Men: N. Smith (Wellington). Women: Miss M. Macfarlane (Auckland).

DOUBLES. Men: N. Smith and Plummer (Hawke’s Bay). Women: Miss Glenny (Hawke's Bay) and Miss Macfarlane. COMBINED DOUBLES.
