Overton) when he stated that he had yet to learn of a school anywhere in New Zealand which did better handwork than Westport school. Mr. J. H. Harkness said he had recently had the opportunity of visiting the school’s annual display, and he had been surprised by the fine quality of so much of the handwork. One class of girls were wearing skirts that they had made themselves, even to the weaving of the material. A number of photographs of the Westport display were exhibited in the Board room.
