FRANCO AND BOMBINGS.

(Recd. December 14, 1 p.m.) LONDON, December 13. General Franco has sent a. Note to Britain, denying the Republican allegations, but admitting that military objectives were sometimes located m open towns.. Bombings were carried out under the orders of the General Staff, disproving that foreign aviators intervened. He asserted that the Republicans placed civilians near the objectives in order to use the victims for propaganda. He claimed that the Republicans carried out 2091 raids on 3«3 open towns, resulting in 18,985 casualties.

SHOOTING OF PRISONERS.

PARIS, December 13. An international committee formed in Faris for the liberation of international volunteers from rebel prisons in Spain stated that of 3000 to 4000 volunteers taken prisoner during the war only SOO are alive, the remainder having been shot. The rebels shot all prisoners in the first eight months and only began to spare them after Guadalajara in the hope of exchanging them for Italian prisoners held by the Loyalists.

ITALIAN TROOPS LANDED.

GIBRALTAR, December 13

The Spanish Press Agency reports that the Italian steamer Firenze landed 300 to 400 Italian infantrymen at Seville.

The Senate passed a vote of confidence in M. Spaak’s Spanish policy. M. Spaak declared that he desired to resume normal relations with the Republicans. He added that negotiations with General Franco were proceeding.
