FORGERY CHARGES

RABBITER COMMITTED.

WELLINGTON, September 21.

Two charges of forgery were preferred against Arthur Roberts, alias Arthur Dominic Plunket. alias Patrick McEvoy, 51. described as a rabbiter, one of forging a receipt for 19/-, with the name “A. Singleton,” at Wellington, and the other a request to the postmaster at Adelaide Road, for the repurchase of unused postage stamps to the value of £l.

On a further charge of breaking and entering the Post Office at Ohinewai. and stealing a cash-box. money, and other articles, to the total value of £37 6/6, he was remanded to appear at Auckland.

He was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, on the forgery charges.
