DIRECTOR’S TOUR

AVELLINGTON, September 18

Public health administration in the United States of America, Great Britain, and the Continent of Europe will be studied by the Director-General of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt, who will leave Auckland for San Francisco by the Monterey to-morrow. In making this announcement on Saturday, the Minister for Health (Hon. P. Fraser) I said that the Director of the Hospitals Division, Dr. R. A. Shore, would act is Director-General of Health during the absence from New Zealand of Dr Watt. ; " Dr. Watt’s tour will be made under the auspices l of the Rockefeller Foundation of Now York. In addition to studying public health administration, ho will alfeo visit research institutions and investigate the latest advances in medical and hospital practice.

' In 1925, as Deputy Director-Gen-eral of Health, Dr. V'att attended a conference of medical officers from all parts of the world, which was held in Japan under the auspices of the League of Nations. Later he visited Korea and then America, where he spent about three months. Dr. AA att left AVellington for Auckland by the Main Trunk express on Saturday afternoon. Ho expects to be away from New Zealand about eight months.
