BANDITS AMBUSH JEWS

JERUSALEM, September 7
In spite of the presence of a bodyguard, bandits ambushed between Haifa and Tel Aviv, a car containing a businessman named Yechiel, a brother of the Zionist leader, Dr. Chaim Weizmann. After puncturing the tyres with bullets and causing the car to overturn the bandits riddled it with rifle fire, killing Mr Yechiel’s son, a leading lawyer, and wounding all the other occupants. Bandits in ambush tired on a cart- 1 ful of workers going home at Nessziona, killing a. newly-arrived migrant and seriously wounding two other Jews and' a girl.
BRITISH SOLDIERS KILLED
(Recd. September 8, S a.m.) JERUSALEM. September 7. Two British soldiers were killed and four seriously injured by a land mine explosion under a military truck near the Syrian frontier. The Manchester Regiment engaged large forces of Arabs north of Acre. Bombing planes are participating. An armed gang raided a police station at Jaffa, held up the guard, and carried off rifles and revolvers.
