[PEB PBEBS ASSOCIATION.] DENTAL CONFERENCE. WANGANUI, September 5. Delegates from all parts of the Dominion are attending the 30th conference of the N.Z. Dental association, which opened here to-day. The conference will conclude on Thursday. SECURITY BILL. WHANGAREI, September 5. Dr. McMillan outlined the Social Security Bill to a. large audience on Saturday night. A full Cabinet meeting is to be . held on Monday.- It is expected that the Government will considei’ the report of the tribunal set up to consider the guaranteed price for dairy produce for the current season, also . the report of the Minister for Marketing. When the Prime Minister was asked to day if a decision would be reached on Monday, he said the question of the guaranteed price would be considered on but whether oi- not a. decision would be reached was another matter. FALSE PRETENCES. WELLINGTON, Sepember 3. Thomas Joseph Levett, aged 45, a salesman, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to being deemed a rogue and vagabond, in that by faudulently representing that his wife and family were in hospital he imposed upon a person with a view to obtaining money. He also admitted two breaches of probation. It was stated that he told his employer that his wife and family were in hospital and that he was in urgent need of 30/-, which the employer gave him. Levett said that drink was his only trouble, and he was prepared to takeout a prohibition order and not handle any money. T He was given a sentence of three months’ hard labour on each of three charges, two of'them to be concurrent. INSURANCE COMPANY ROTORUA, September 5. At a. meeting of the policy-holders in the Public Mutual Insurance Company, held at Rotorua, strong resentment and dissatisfaction with the affairs of the company was expressed. Particular exception was taken to a proviso in the circular that only members who have paid the levy, will be entitled to vote at the general meeting on September 22. A sub-committee was appointed to interview Mr. Moncur, who was asked to endeavour to secure legislation making it possible for all policy-holders to vote at the meeting. Mr. Moncur asked that the matter be put in writing. He undertook to have an urgent question asked in the House, to-morrow.
