Appearing before Justices, accuse' pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three months’ gaol. WELLINGTON CATHEDRAL. WELLINGTON, September 2. The Bishop of Wellington, Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, to-night completed a, to a. further nine parishes, in his campaign to launch the Anglican diocesan centennial appeal for funds to build the Wellington Cathedral. and to establish a “Bishop’s fighting fund” for general diocesan needs. A further £5OOO has been subscribed. The Bishop, accompanied by Canon Malcolm, has been through the Wanganui, Batea, Opunake, Taihape, and Mangaweka districts since leaving Wellington a fortnight ago. The £5OOO includes three gifts of £5OO each and represents contributions by 50 people. It. is not expected that this will be the full or the only response of those districts, as the Bishop ha r si merely been launching an appeal in each parish. So far the Bishop’s personal endeavours have raised £13,000 in the course of a tour through 21 parishes.
