SPECIAL MEETING

A special meeting of the Hokitika Borough Council was held last evening. Present:—The Mayor (Mr. G. A. Perry). Crs. H. T. Parry, G. Heinz. .L 1.. Turner, W. IL Stopforth. J. Fox, A. R. Elcoch. Apologies for absence were received front Crs. IL L. Michel. C. Caliari. and F. Freitas.

An application for E. Breeze for the surrender of his lease of reserve in Sewell Street sub-division of same and transfer of portion of same to A. Summer was granted.

An application by Mr. Elcock for W. .). Richards 10 surrender lease of Reserve 537 and granting of perpetual lease was granted.

Applications from A. E. Gillman and Robinson for permission to install septic tanks were granted, subject to usual health regulations.

It was decided to take no action with regard to right of way between Wharf Street and Revell Street, next Occidental Hotel, except that the Council reserved the right of use for drainage, and subject to Kanieri Electric Ltd., being satisfied. 'The Council went into committee to discuss the meeting of church properlies in the Borough, and the estimates for the coming financial year.
