The Advisory Committee on Traffic in Opium and oth r dangerous drugs, adopted a report o the Council, giving results of the work. As the most important result, probably a> new step forward in preparation of the conn?: ence for limitation and control of opium poppy cultivation and raw opium production, the Committee adopted a resolution again drawin- the alter:ion of the Council I?/the serious nature of the drug situation in the Far East. and asking that the Governments interested be requested to take very energetic steps to remedy ii.. The committee appointed to study the problem of economic depressions is holding the lir.-.i. session. Much information has been collected, including replies from various Governments to a questionnaire on the steps recently taken 1 to relieve 'the economic crisis. The committee intends not to make a general .theoretical report, but to treat -the practical problems- of international interest raised in the material already collected.
