A STANDING CORPSE
(TOPPLE IN SYDNEY SYDNEY. May 12. A dead man stood upright against a wall in a busy Sydney street for 2<) minutes one afternoon this week, miheedod by passing city crowds. Tin l body, that <>f John Lambert, or Lee, 72 years of age. who had lived in a city residential. was supported by crutches, Loe 'being a cripple. It stood against the wail of a. hotel. Hurrying pedestrians brushed against the body without disturbing it.' One man eventually reported to ti constable (hat "the cripple looked sick." The constable saw that. Lambert was dead aiid gently lowered the body to the pavement. He summoned the ambulance and doctors said that Lambert had been dead for 20 minutes before the constable saw him. Death was due to natural causes. The police department is now seeking Lambert’s relatives. He is believed to have come from New Zea land.
