An at.-, tempt would be made to get the second court ready also, but the progress made would depend upon the weather. as the bitumen hardened slowly 1 at this time of the year. The Board also advised, in regard to the Committee’s request for the provision of a bicycle shed and the enlargement of the staff room at the Main School, that the matter had been referred to the West Coast foreman for a report. Mi'. Batty: Does that mean that the Board is taking an interest in the bicycle shed? The Chairman said that the foreman was embodying in his report that, if the Board would supply the labour for the shed, the Committee would supply the material, which was the offer that the Board had made when the members had visited Greymouth some time. ago.
Mr. Sheard said that he hoped early action would be taken in regard to the shed, as the 'Winter time was when it was most necessary. The Education Board recommended the appointment, of Miss M. M. Blazey, at present, relieving at Kumara, to the position of assistant mistress at the Main School, stating that arrangements had been made for her to take up her duties at the beginning of the new term. There was one other applicant. 't'he appointment of Miss Blazey was approved. The Education Board advised that, it was necessary for it to confirm the appointment of Messrs. Shapcott, Smith and Logan to the Committee as. although their written nominations had not been received, they had been duly elected at the householders' meeting.
