A feature of the voting at the general election has been the heavy consistent poll of women, who outnumber the men. 1 The campaign was comparatively quiet until last night, when the outside districts of the Rand were given over to hooliganism, and smashing cars belonging to Jews. The police cleared the streets of the poorer class district.
