YACHTING
GREY CLUB BANQUET. Over 50 members attended the annual end-of-the-season banquet of the Greymouth Regatta Club in the club house, on Saturday evening. The club commodore, Mr E. W. Smith, presided. During lhe evening, trophies won ■ since the New Year, were presented to Messrs R. Blacktopp (McLean Cup ; and Bellott Cup), and W. Bond (Com- ; modore’s Cup and Doctors and Den- ‘ lists’ Cup). Pennants won during the season were presented to G. Messen- ! ( ger (Vagabond 4),'R. Blacktopp (Rascal 5), F. Brennan (Awatea 2), _ J. Hogarth (Bounty 3). R. Moffett (Karoro 2). R. Trewern (Marion ?>.), , G. Scott (Mystic 3). W. Messenger . (lanthe 1). W. Bond (Manurewa 1). . A lengthy toast-list occupied the ■ greater part of. the evening, and mu:;i- , cal items wore contributed by Messrs j. Smith, W Payne, J. Behan, R. Longstaff. and' H. Blanchfiold. with Mr E. Barton at lhe piano. During the evening, Mr W. Messenger (secretary) presented lhe club with a cup, on behalf of the Messenger family, to be known as the Ron Messenger Memorial Trophy, and to be competed for by the junior crews of the club. 1
