SOCCER FOOTBALL

WESTLAND ASSOCIATION .The weekly meeting of the Westland Football Association was held last evening, there being present, Messrs F. M. Smyth (chairman), G. Craig, W. Bowman. J. Paton, W. Paton, J. Rutherford and D. Wallis (secretary). The Canterbury Football Association wrote requesting a game at Christchurch on the King's Birthday holiday, June 6. It was decided to accept the invitation and that, clubs be asked for nominations of players willing to travel. The New Zealand Football Association advised tluft the Chatham Cup competition would be held against this season, entries closing on May 15, with a fee of £l/1/-. Second-class travelling expenses will be paid for the semi-finalists and finalists. It was decided that this matter be held over in the meantime. The Waiuta Club advised that it was unable to send a team to Greymouth this week-end.
