April 26, 2.' p.ni.) ' / HANKOW, April. 25. It is believed that China, possesses armaments?to. suffice for a year. The arsenals are ” turning out additional weapons, while war supplies are being regularly imported. Madame Chiairg' Kai Shek has made an appeal throughout the nation to continue the resistance. STRUGGLE FOR HSUCHOW. HANKOW, April 24. The Chinese are reserving 300,000 troops in order to await the critical opportunity of flinging them into the furious offensive which is raging north of Hsuchow. The Chinese claim that they are holding their ground in spite of theactivity of Japanese artillery and aircraft. They claim scattered guerrilla successes, but these cannot be regarded as of definite importance as affecting the general issue. The Japanese 'onslaught towards Taierchwang continues with unabated fury. The Chinese are sending up reinforcements with all speed. The Jauanese claim to have captured Tancheng, 12 miles from the Lunghai railway. The Chinese claim, that after the arrival of numerous reinforcements, they repulsed the Japanese attacks, forcing the Japanese back on Yihsien.
