WAR SECRETARY AT ROME. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] ROME, April 24. The British Secretary for War (Mr L. Hore-Belisha), who is visiting Rome, had a cordial interview with Signor Mussolini. It is understood he expressed,. on behalf of Mr Chamberlain’# satisfaction with the British-Italian agreement, and emphasised- his Government’s intention to cultivate friendly relations. Signor Mussolini reciprocated. The greatest interest is being displayed in diplomatic circles in Mr Hore-Belisha’s visit. Signor Mussolini has arranged a. full programme before Mr Hore-Belisha returns to London on April 27. BALKAN SATISFACTION. ATHENS, April 2.3. The Prime Minister (General Metaxas), in his capacity as president of the Balkan Entente, has cabled the Prime Minister of Britain and Signor Mussolini, congratulating them on the signature of the BritishItalian agreement.
“The agreement,” he said, “exercises the most beneficial influence for peace, which is the source of particular satisfaction to the Entente.”
