CROQUET. The West Coast Croquet Association’s annual championship and handicap tournament is to commence at the Makura Club's lawns, Greymouth, on Tuesday next, and will continue throughout the week. The lawns are reported to be in excellent condition and record entries have been received for the tournament, including visitors from several Christchurch clubs, Timaru, Otago, Westport., Reefton and Hokitika. In addition to the ordinary events, a nine hole putting competition will be conducted each day during the tournament. RIFLE-SHOOTING. SYDNEY. February 11. At the rifle shooting anniversary meeting, the King’s Prize was won by a Queensland farmer, V. Buttsworth. with a score of 347. Hoddle was unplaced. A total of 1400 marksmen from all parts of the Empire took part. The second and third places were filled by the Victorian, _ G. W. Letts, and’ G. Gall (Queensland), each with 345 points. BILLIARDS. SYDNEY, February 11. In the billiards championship the scores are:—Lindrum 8983, including breaks of 1445 and 994. McConachy 4198. BOXING. LONDON. February 10. Jack Doyle has injured his elbow in a motor accident. His match against Foord has been postponed. N.Z. SURFING TEAM.
SYDNEY, February 11.
The New Zealand team of 10 .surfers to compete in a special carnival from February 19 to February 26, arrived by the Awatea. The visitors were welcomed by -officials of the Surf Life-Saving Association.
