ROYAL VISIT TO FRANCE
PRINCESSES NOT TO GO [by carle —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, February 9. It is understood that Their Majesties do not intend to take the Princesses to France, despite the appeals of French newspapers to allow the children to accompany their parents. RUGBY, February 9. Referring to the King’s visit to France, to unveil the Australian memorial. the “Daily Telegraph” says: Frenchmen need no reminder that. Britons from lands separated from France by distances far greater than the Channel, stood not so long ago by the side of France. Before beginning those still uncharted voyages Overseas, for which the moredistant lands of the British Commonwealth hope, the King will stand forth on French soil as the head of the State, of the Dominions as well as of their Mother Country.
The “Daily Herald” says: The visit symbolises the deep, intimate friendship now existing between France and Britain.
