Moonie left to-day, on. return to Whangarei. Mrs. S'. Sullivan was a passenger by this morning’s express to Christchurch. Miss M. Vercoe left to-day on return to Christchurch. Miss D. Bayley left, this morning, on a, holiday visit to Christchurch. Captain Johnston and Mrs. Johnston left to-day, on return to Wellington. Mr. 11. Carter left, this morning, on return to Christchurch. Mr. 11. Vincent left to-day, for Wellington. Messrs. C. and M. Hally left- to-day, on return to Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. A. Donnelly left last evening, on a holiday visit to Dunedin. Mrs. J. Willis and Miss R. Willis were passengers by this morning's express to Christchurch. Miss L. Frost left to-day, on a visit to Wellington. She was accompanied by Mrs D. Green, Totara Flat. Mr J. Hansell, exhibition manager of Messrs J. C. Williamson, Ltd., arrived yesterday, on a visit to Greymouth. Mr and Mrs H. L. Dillimore, who • have been the guests of Mr and Mrs , F. E. Smith, Shakespeare "Street, left > yesterday, on return to Bankside. Mr. H. Hornby, editor-manager of i “The Merredin Mercury,” Merredin, West Australia, is visiting Greymouth. Mr. Hornby was a member of the staff ' of the “Star,” in 1883. A Press Association message from Dunedin announced the death of Rev. , Alexander Greig, the oldest Presbyterian Minister in New Zealand, in ’ his 100th year.
Mrs Monteath, and, her daughter, Miss Sheila Tennent, who have been visiting the Glaciers, spent a few days with Mrs Oliver, Cowper Street, before their return to Christchurch.
Constable P. Tulloch, who has been appointed constable at Bruce Bay, arrived yesterday, from Auckland. He. will be in charge of the new police district from Cook River south to the Westland Boundary at Bruce Bay.
The appointment of Rev. J. Robertson as Moderator of Christchurch Presbytery was confirmed at a meeting of the Presbytery yesterday morning. He succeeds Rev. J. Lawson Robinson. Mr. Robinson has been Minister at Cashmere Hills Church, since 1930, and before that was at Clive. —Press Assn.

Miss E. Shackley, whose marriage will take place this week, was the guest of honour at a gift evening given by the members of the Presbyterian Church, Runanga, Ih the Hall. There was a large attendance, and a pleasant evening was spent in singing and competitions. Miss Shackley received many gifts.
An Official Wireless message stated that the King received at Buckingham Palace, Sir H. Knatchbull Hugessen, on the relinquishment of his appointment as Ambassador to China, and Sir Harold Macmichael, on his appointment as High Commissioner and; Commander-In-Chief in Palestine.
