WANGANUI, January 20
At the Wanganai wool sale, to-day, ordinary crossbred was a halfpenny down on the Wellington and a farthing down on the Napier sale. Lambs’ wool good was Id down on Wellington. There is not. much change on good wools. France and Germany are competing, and mostly within decided limits.

A substantial decrease in the return from the first. Christchurch woo! sale of this season, when compared with the first sale in the previous season is shown in the official figures of the Christchurch Woolbrokers' Association. The returns and averages were, however, larger than those in the 1935-3 B season, though the offerings were fairly closely comparable. The total realisation was £372.827 from 22,Sfit; bales sold, compared with •C <521.1149 from 28.0(10 bales in 1930-37 season and £321.280 from 21,6-10 bales in the previous season.
