DISMISSED BY. KING £ [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] CAIRO, December 30. - King Farouk dismissed his Cabinet at 9 a.m. It is understood that he has asked Mohamed Mahmoud to form a Ministry. The Prime Minister, Nahas Pasha, had protested against the composition of the commission proposed by King Farouk to study the differences between the Palace and the Government but accepting the principle of arbitration, made counter-proposals that the differences should be dis- « cussed: (1) By the Chamber and the Senate; (2) by the constitutional com- ■> niittee together with the Presidents of i the Chamber and the Senate; and (3) directly between the Palace and the < Cabinet. Nahas Pasha protested to Hie ? King that the proposed commission < would be prejudiced against the Government, and its decision would be a foregone conclusion. Mohamed Mahmoud, who is chairman of the Constitutional Liberal Par- 4 ty, was Prime Minister in 1928 and 1929. He is 55 years of age and was educated as Oxford University, after which he held various administrative posts in Egypt, and became Governor \ lof the Fayum Province. He entertained j King George V. when the King travelled throhgh the Suez Canal on his ; I was to India in 1911.
