U.S.A. OPPOSES ZEELAND PLAN

The “New York Times’s” Washington correspondent, says: It is increasingly evident that the monetary authorities tare most pleased with the Stabilisation Fund, despite Wall Street criticism of its secret working, and are likely to defend it to the last ditch. There is no disposition in favour of an international conference to discuss the return of the gold standard.
Mr. Morgenthau, State Treasurer, says he is definitely opposed to M. Zeeland’s reported control plan.
