REEFTON NOTES
[our own correspondent.] REEFTON, December 13. At 'the.monthly meeting of the Council of. the Reefton School of Mines, Mr, J. B. Auld-presided. Others present, were Messrs. C. Buist, R. Alborn, I. Patterson, F. Hayes. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. T. .Patterson and- W. Saunders, The Mines Department advised that it was unable to supply linoleum for ne.w class room. It was resolved that Mr..W, Bassett, be paid for extra work, and" that Messrs. 1. Baird of Brunner, and; B. McPherson of Reefton, be granting £5/57- each for their work in tutoring of classes. The Director reported that for the month, 61 gold and silver assays had been’ carried out, three coal dust analyses, two bullion, and there were in hand 18 assays for completion, The school closed for the period at the end of November.
Steady rain caused the abandonment' of. the opening of the, Reefton Club'S cdiitts, yesterday.
