The Press and the Ladfes’ Committee were accorded votes of thanks for their assistance.
Proposing the motion, Mr G. McLennan eulogised the Avork of the ladies, without whom, he said, the finances would! not have been in the satisfactory position they Avere. PRESENTATIONS. Making the presentation of a handbag to Mrs J. Jackson, the Chairman Said that for the past two or three years she had 1 taken a very keen and active interest in the Band, and had -worked hard for the organisation. She had throAvni her hoiheopen. to the Band executive for meetings, and 'her hospitality had been greatly, appreciated. The presentation Avas made by the executive as an appreciation of Mrs Jackson’s fine Avork, and they trusted that she AVould continue her acinterest. The Chairman, in making presentations of three silver badges’ said that the executive had seen, fit recently to recognise the services of non-playing members, and the badges were the form! of appreciation chosen. In their non-playing members, the Band: Avere fortunate, and without the help of those men, the organislation could not have made the splendid progress it had. The Band deeply appreciated their good Avork. Tie then presented ,'tho badges, suitably inscribed. to Messrs H. McLauchlan, J. Gibb and J. Smith. .The Chairman added that a. badge Avould be presented aG’ the
earliest opportunity to Mr P. M. Outhwaite, noAA r of Runanga, who was not present. Mr E. Barton (conductor) endorsed the remarks of the Chairman, and eulogised the Avork done by all four recipients.
